The exhibition features meticulously detailed acrylic paintings and prints that celebrate native Australian flora and wildlife and highlight the ecologies and habitats and that support and connect them. Hsin Lin’s professional background in fashion design informs her skill and ability to capture the organic textural details of these subjects. Through sensitive observation and illustration every petal, facet, or filament is rendered on canvas. Actively contrasting the detail of her slowly executed paintings of botanical subjects, other works in the exhibition employ a more spontaneous and accelerated approach, with more abstracted outcomes. Hsin Lin is a local artist affiliated with the Victorian Artists Society who has exhibited regularly at galleries throughout Melbourne since 2017. The flowers symbolized happiness and gratefulness for the life you have been given. They are a celebration of life. The Egyptian believed that the gerbera would lessen the sorrows and stresses of everyday life in the old days. It also has a meaning of closeness to nature and devotion to the sun. Alstroemeria, also known as Peruvian lily or lily of the Incas, native to South America however some have become naturalized in the United States, Mexico, Australia, and New Zealand. This long-lasting flower symbolises devotion and friendship. Alstroemeria is also a symbol of wealth, fortune and prosperity. Symbolic of powerful Yang energy, Chrysanthemums are believed to represent longevity, joy and attractant of good luck in the home. If you receive chrysanthemums from someone, it is a symbol of love. The beautiful sun-coloured yellow rose can also convey warmth, delight and affection, as well as say good luck, welcome back, and remember me. The yellow rose is the perfect flower for someone who needs a little cheering up. -WILD BOTANICAL ABSTRACT SERIES 2020 by H.Lin- Artwork inspired by nature in Bayswater, Melbourne, Autumn, 2020. -HSIN LIN Enjoy the time lapse video of this artwork please visit : https://youtu.be/1c09Cib04pU Link here if you would like to collect this particular artwork.
