New Artwork Release : Life is a Gift - Poppy Iceland, Hare's Tail Grass, Rose, Hydrangea and Everlasting Paper Daisy (2025) 76.2cm (W) x 76.2cm (H) x 3.8cm (D) By HSIN LIN Artist Acrylic on triple primed premium double thick canvas. Sealed with clear spray varnish. Side panels painted. Signed at the front and ready to hang. Comes with a certificate of authenticity. Affirmation: Wake up every day with a grateful heart, live the life, enjoy the present. To experience the seasons, it has become a routine of mine to paint the first bloom around my surroundings during its flowering season. This artwork depicts a gorgeous flower arrangement I encountered during my visit to a local nursery on a sunny afternoon. Time froze on that magical moment, and this gorgeous bouquet caught my attention. The flowers were placed in a white ceramic pot, wrapped in a pastel colour grosgrain ribbon. The beautiful flower arrangement reminds me that life is precious and every day is a gift. Poppies symbolise dreams, remembrance and mindfulness. The Poppie flowers commemorate victims who served and lost their lives during the conflicts. These radiant blossoms also stand for spiritual awakening and transformation. Lagurus ovatus, also known as Hare's tail grass, bunny tail grass. In the Language of Flowers, Hare's tail grass symbolises protection, innocence, purity, love, beauty, and fertility. In some cultures, bunny Tail Grass is believed to ward off evil spirits or negative energies. Placing Bunny Tail Grass near doorways or windows is thought to keep negative influences at bay and bring positivity into the home. Roses in Light Pink are associated with gentleness, admiration, gratitude and sympathy. Gifting light pink roses is a perfect way to let the receiver know that they are a pleasure to behold. Everlasting paper daisies, also known as Strawflower (Xerochrysum bracteantha), symbolise immortality and can also represent someone or something that is always remembered. Last but not least, one of my favourite native flowers, Hydrangea, symbolises Heartfelt and honest emotions, reunion, abundance and prosperity. Flowers always bloom at their own time without competing with other flowers. May we all bloom in our time in the best season. Hope you enjoy this artwork of mine. Home Is Where You Are – White Queen Protea, Eucalyptus Flower and Gumnuts in a Vase (2025) 90 x 75 cm By HSIN LIN Acrylic on Acid-free canvas. Painted with palette knives and brushes. Sealed with clear spray varnish. Side panels painted. Signed at the front and ready to hang. Comes with a certificate of authenticity. Affirmation: Home is where I find light when all goes dark, home is where you are. To experience the seasons, it has become a routine of mine to paint the first bloom around my surroundings, during its flowering season. This artwork was inspired by a day trip to Torquay, Victoria. This gorgeous native bouquet in a tall glass vase in a beautiful indoor setting with a Woven bamboo fan caught my attention. Protea flowers - native to Australia and South Africa, symbolise courage and Love. I am especially in love with the story behind the name: In Greek legend, proteas were named after Proteus, the son of Poseidon. A sea god who had the power to know all things past, present, and future. The Woven bamboo fan stands for connections, the connection between families, friends, and all the people around us. Even if you are apart, everyone is still being linked together as a whole, stronger together. Every passenger in our life, every stranger, and people who stay and who are meant to cross our path for a reason plays an irreplaceable role in our story. As for my all-time favourite - Eucalyptus stand for Healing and Protection. It’s what home is meant to be. A place where we can stay, relax, and breathe. Flowers always bloom in their own time without competing with other flowers. May we all bloom in our time in the best season. Hope you enjoy this artwork of mine. - WILD BOTANICAL ABSTRACT SERIES BY HSIN LIN- Artwork inspired by nature in Torquay, Australia, Summer 2025. -HSIN LIN Exhibition: 27 Mar – 13 Apr 2025 VAS Autumn Select Exhibition at The Victorian Artists Society. New Artwork Release : Sunlight Dancing - Blue Hydrangea and Baby's Breath in Green Glass Vase (2024) 71 x 71 x 3.75 cm By HSIN LIN Artist Acrylic on Acid-free canvas. Painted with palette knife and brushes. Sealed with clear spray varnish. Side panels painted. Signed at the front and ready to hang. Comes with a certificate of authenticity. Affirmation: Today brings the illumination of our hope. The Better day is today. To experience the seasons, it has become a routine of mine to paint the first bloom around my surroundings, during its flowering season. This is my depiction of a gorgeous Hydrangea arrangement I encountered during my visit to Dandenong Ranges on a sunny afternoon. Sunlight came in from the window formed a warm yellow halo, illuminating the Hydrangea flowers which placed in a green oval glass vase, the light grey curtain swung along with the breeze slightly, and time froze on that magical moment. Hydrangea symbolizes Heartfelt and honest emotions, reunion, abundance and prosperity. With its wooden stems and lacy, star-shaped flowers packed together in a pompom. The blossoms are treasured for both their grace and delicacy and are the flower symbol of the fourth wedding anniversary. Blue hydrangea symbolizes gratitude and understanding for someone else. Gypsophila paniculata, also known as the baby's breath, common gypsophila or panicled baby's breath, is a species of flowering plant in the family Caryophyllaceae. In the language of flowers, Baby's breath flower stands for sincerity, purity, and love. It also symbolizes innocence, making it an excellent gift for baby showers and many other occasions. Flowers always bloom in their own time without competing with other flowers. May we all bloom in our time in the best season. To experience the seasons, it has become a routine of mine to paint the first bloom around my surroundings, during its flowering season. This is my depiction of the gorgeous bouquet that was gifted to me by my family and family members overseas as a surprise, during the opening night of my solo exhibition - Bloom Like Flowers, presented by Maroondah City Council at Maroondah Federation Estate Gallery. (Melbourne, Australia) Even the galley curators kept a secret till I saw a large, breathtakingly beautiful bouquet with the crowd during the opening. I was overwhelmed by a surge of various emotions. Words could not describe how happy and grateful I am for all the love and support I received. Sometimes the strongest love may be left unsaid but presents itself loudest in action. Therefore, I chose to express it in the best way I could think of - with my paint brushes and canvas. All the native blossoms bloom gloriously. A precious memory that I will cherish forever. Therefore, I have the title - A Thousand Ways to Love, to say I love you, for this particular artwork. I started this artwork around Dec 2022. It’s been a long journey, sunny days and rainy days. To depict the different textures of those special native flowers correctly, somedays I even had to start all over if I wasn’t satisfied with the outcome the day before. Some of the tepals are velvety, some are furry, and some have woody, rough surfaces or relatively firm textures. The process wasn’t an easy task but It’s a challenge that I always enjoyed. The flowers I painted during day sometimes appear in my dreams. After 12 months of production time, I finally had it completed on Dec 2023. Here I present you the latest piece from my award-winning/signature series -Bloom like Flowers. BANKSIA prionotes, a species of shrub or tree of the genus Banksia in the family Proteaceae, also known as Acorn Banksia or Orange Banksia. In the Language of Flowers, Banksia symbolizes rebirth, regeneration and new beginnings. Amaranthus, with tiny flowers blooming in cascading clusters creating a weeping effect, is considered a symbol of immortality due to its longevity. The name Amaranthus came from the Greek “amarantos”, meaning “unfading”, which also describes the vivid colours of the flowers that can last for weeks while on the plant. Dracula Celosia, formerly Celosia cristata, also known as cockscomb, is the crested variety of the species Celosia argentea. The unusual shape and richly-hued blooms of the flower is not the only reason why it stands out, it’s also believed that celosia is a good omen. Celosia is a symbol of boldness. If you want to wish someone courage, gifting Celosia to the person you care about will send the right message. Celosia flowers also stand for affection, love, individuality, partnership, resilience, and strength. Yellow Paper Daisy, also known as Sticky Everlasting, Shiny Everlasting, or Golden Everlasting. Yellow Daisy stands for youthful beauty and gentleness. Some people look at the daisy to be a symbol of good luck. However, the most popular meanings attached to the daisy are - loyal love, innocence, and purity. As for my all-time favourite - Eucalyptus flowers and gum nuts stand for Healing and Protection. Flowers always bloom in their own time without competing with other flowers. May we all bloom in our time in the best season. Hope you enjoy this artwork of mine. I am back with the 1st blog post of 2025 with new artwork releases as well as a Milestone Update: HSIN LIN ART has hit a significant milestone this month with 464+ happy collectors around the world owning a special piece (or pieces :) ) of my Art/ heart. Here I would like to express my gratitude to those who have been supporting me from the very beginning as well as new friends who have joined my art journey recently. It is your love and support that driven me to overcome obstacles and to reach this far. In the Jan artwork highlight, I would like to share a perfect artwork for the new year. A little background story: This particular piece was painted on my birthday as a commitment/ promise to myself, therefore it holds a special place in my heart. Original painting info : Let’s Make A Wish - Banksia Menziesii (Menzies Banksia) By HSIN LIN Artist Acrylic on triple primed gesso canvas, painted with palette knife and brushes. Signed at front and ready to hang. Sides Painted. 91.4 x 60.9 cm I encountered this beautiful Banksia bush during my visit to Royal Botanic Garden in its flowering season. The shape of the flowers looks like candles on the cake, shining in vibrant yellow and red under the sunlight. I walked into the woods, and the voice from nature of the day was: Affirmation – Desire is the key to motivation, our wish becomes our will, and determination brings success. So, let us light up a candle, make a wish, take a chance and make a move. This Australian native plant is one of my favourite objects to study, to paint and I especially love the spiritual meaning of it. Some species of Banksia protect their seeds inside follicles while simultaneously opening up when experiencing fire. It reminds me that we shall never give up no matter what kind of difficulty we encounter in life. Sometimes challenges in life may be good things in disguise. Banksia symbolizes rebirth and new beginnings. To move on to the past courageously, to have the strength that pain cannot touch and to look forward to tomorrow. Banksia menziesii, also known as firewood banksia or strawberry banksia, is a species of flowering plant in the genus Banksia. Leaves are dull green with new growth in greyish green. Flowers are often in two colours red or pink and yellow. Menzies Banksia is commonly seen in Australian Parks and gardens, it provides food for animals and birds, in particular- honeyeaters. May we all bloom in our time in the best season. Hope you enjoy this artwork of mine. This particular artwork marks the 318th artwork fresh off my studio and I absolute love every details of it. From the vivid brushstrokes to the velvety , layers and layers of tiny Chrysanthemum petals. Affirmation: Everyday lives, live every day. Cherish our loved ones, and live like it's heaven on earth. New Artwork Release : Live Like Heaven Is On Earth - Eucalyptus, Chrysanthemum, Wax flower and Daisy 75 x 75 x 2.5 cm 19/11/2024 By HSIN LIN Artist Acrylic on Acid-free canvas. Sealed with clear spray varnish. Side panels painted. Signed at the front and ready to hang. Comes with a certificate of authenticity. To experience the seasons, it has become a routine of mine to paint the first bloom around my surroundings, during its flowering season. Symbolic of powerful Yang energy, Chrysanthemums are believed to represent happiness, longevity, joy and the attraction of good luck in the home. If you receive chrysanthemums from someone, it is a symbol of love. Geraldton wax (Chamelaucium uncinatum) is also a beautiful flowering Australian native shrub that brings colour to gardens from late winter to spring. The flowers have a sweet, honey fragrance, ooze nectar and are highly attractive to bees. The flowers also have a beautiful meaning, such as happiness in marriage. Daisies stands for innocence and purity. In earlier days, women wore daisy flowers to decorate their hair, which symbolized the simplicity and innocence of youth. Also, when a daisy flower gifted by a maiden was considered a sign of affection and a respectable gesture, till today, the daisy bloom is used to express the language of love in a special way. As for my all-time favourite - Eucalyptus stands for Healing and Protection. The flower always blooms in its own time without competing with other flowers. Featured artwork : Family by Choice - Sulphur-crested Cockatoo 75 x 75 x 2.5 cm By HSIN LIN Artist Acrylic on triple primed gesso Acid free canvas. Sealed with clear spray varnish. Signed at front, sides painted and ready to hang. Affirmation: Friend is family by choice. Partner is family by choice. And you my dear, you are my family by choice. -We are all different, but we make each other better. - Cockatoos symbolize change and to embrace self-love. They also represent a sense of community and the importance of communication As many of you may know I don’t paint birds often, but when I do it’s normally a self-projection. White Cockatoo, one of my favourite Australian Native Birds. Which also inspired me to paint this artwork as an extension of my previous series. Like a year book, featuring all our friends, carrying all kinds of memories. Each bird has different appearance, different personality, and each one of them might remind you of that specific, special friend of yours. That person might be bubbly, fun or even weird in an amazing way, and you love them no matter what. That’s why I name this series – Family by Choice. Hope you enjoy this original series of mine. I am back with my 1st blog post of August with exhibition / new artwork update & greetings from my studio to you. {Back from exhibition, now available } Illuminate Brilliance - Eucalyptus Blossoms (2024) 90 x 75 cm By HSIN LIN Artist Acrylic on Acid-free canvas. Painted with palette knife and brushes. Sealed with clear spray varnish. Side panels painted. Signed at the front and ready to hang. Affirmation: Fly higher and shine brighter, because nothing can dim your light. From where I live in Bayswater, there is a big field of forest near my studio. My creating process normally starts with a short walk into the woods, touching the texture of the tree barks, and feeling the sunlight reflecting on the leaves and grasses. I then collect whatever I found during the walk as inspiration. Sometimes I have various tree leaves or bird feathers; in autumn I have acorns, and wattles in winter. There's only one rule for my collecting process, never take from the living tree/life. I collect what had fallen only, and those are the gifts from the nature of the day for me. There is one particular orange gum tree that I walk past every day. I was obsessed with the delightful view of the sunlight reflected on those striking orange blossoms every time. It has become a routine of mine to paint the first bloom of the plant around my surroundings, now you are looking at my latest interpretation of my favourite gum tree. CORYMBIA FICIFOLIA (BABY ORANGE), a tough Australian native plant with brilliant bright orange flowers in summertime, is quite common in urban areas, gardens and streetscapes. New growth appears bronze-red then turns green providing a beautiful contrast of colour. Eucalyptus flowers also have the symbolic meaning of Healing and Protection. Flowers always bloom in their own time without competing with other flowers. May we all bloom in our time in the best season. Hope you enjoy this artwork of mine. Featured artwork : Smiling like a flower towards sunlight - Protea Frosted Fire and White Niobe (2023) 75 x 75 x 2.5 cm By HSIN LIN Artist Acrylic on Acid-free stretched canvas. Signed at the front and ready to hang. Original Artwork. Comes with a certificate of authenticity. Side panels painted. D-rings and wire are attached at the back. Sealed with varnish. To experience the seasons, it has become a routine of mine to paint the first bloom around my surrounding, during its flowering season. This is my fifth depiction of one of my favourite flowers – Protea, the former four had found their forever home, and now you are looking at my latest interpretation of these gorgeous blossoms. Protea flowers - native to Australia and South Africa, symbolized Strength, Courage, and Love. I am especially in love with the story behind the name: In Greek legend, proteas were named after Proteus, the son of Poseidon. A sea god who had the power to know all things past, present, and future. Protea Frosted Fire (Protea neriifolia) produce stunning pink flowers with white feathery tips in winter. The white Protea Niobe (Protea magnifica x laurifolia) has light yellow flowers with trims of soft black, purplish foliage that outline the tips of the petals. Protea also associates to change and transformation, and diversity. “What sunshine is to flowers, smiles are to humanity.” Joseph Addison English essayist, poet. The flower always blooms in its own time without competing with other flowers. May we all bloom in our time in the best season. Hello to all the new friends and old friends. Wherever you are, I hope you are safe, happy, and well. I am back with the first blog post of May 2024 with an new press update for you!
Click the link below to read the full article or scroll down for full article : Artist in focus > Hsin Lin Published date: 25/04/2024. By PosterFactory. Meet HSIN LIN “My art captures the beauty and serenity of floral motifs, each with its own unique story and symbolic meaning.” HSIN LIN, a Melbourne-based award-winning artist, specialises in contemporary floral paintings. Her signature series, featuring both native and common flowers, embodies beauty and serenity, capturing the intricate details and symbolic meanings of each bloom. Lin’s art is a vibrant reminder of life’s potential and the power of nature. How many years have you been creating and showcasing your art? I’ve been devoting myself to my signature contemporary floral series for the past 10 years. Each flower I paint represents life and has a unique symbolic meaning. How would you describe the style and themes of your work? My art captures the beauty and serenity of floral motifs. The fine details, such as the tiny petals, are developed through ten or more layers of paint. Although still-life is considered a traditional genre, each object in my paintings stands for a different meaning and has its own story Are you earning from your art? I was featured in Australia Artist’s Palette magazine in 2017, which was a turning point for me. My work has been recognized in various local art shows, and my artworks are held in private collections both in Australia and internationally. Selling through galleries and online has allowed me to reach a larger audience. What feedback have you received so far? My collectors often tell me that my work is the first piece that grabs their guests’ attention. People enjoy the beautiful details from afar or up close, and a great statement piece can be a conversation starter. Do you have a day job? Or are you a full-time artist? I am a full-time artist. Any upcoming projects? I recently launched the LTD ED Prints of my latest award-winning artwork: A Thousand Ways to Love – Acorn Banksia, Eucalyptus, Amaranthus, Celosia Cristata and Yellow Everlastings, following a successful solo exhibition at the Victorian Artists Society in January 2024. I also have work in the permanent collection of the Mental Health Foundation Australia and have been recognized in their National Mental Health Month Art Competitions. Next solo exhibition is coming up on June 2024. Featured artwork : Riverview in Wonderland 60.9 x 91.4 x 4 cm Acrylic on pine frame Canvas. *This artwork was featured in Australia Artist's Palette and Creative Artist magazine No.154, 2017 July as an Artist's demonstration by Woodlands Publishing. * Also, this particular artwork is the only piece that is still available amongst all the featured artworks that were included in the magazine. The other 15 had found good homes. Comes with the last edition of the magazine that I collected if you would like to be the collector of this original artwork. This painting was inspired by nature in Warburton, Yarra River, east of Lilydale, on the road to Mount Donna Buang, it was a calm and quiet afternoon and I was fascinated by the view of the golden sunlight shining on the right side of the trees and the glistening river. In a valley between heavily forested mountains, feel the water flow toward you, you are the one who's on your way. Everything you desire is already yours. Water is the start of life, from Feng Shui's point of view, water is also well known as the symbol of fortune. A nonstop, steady river water flows toward you bringing you great luck and financial abundance. A variety of different colourful foliage symbolized the abundance of life. Amaranthus, with tiny flowers blooming in cascading clusters creating a weeping effect, is considered a symbol of immortality due to its longevity. Dracula Celosia, formerly Celosia cristata, also known as cockscomb, is the crested variety of the species Celosia argentea. Over the past few years, I haven't talked about my background a lot just because I wanted to focus on my presence, even though I never forgot who I am and why I paint. However, I was convinced by a wise man, he said to me: " There's so much happening around the world, I hope you can share your story, it's encouraging and it might have a positive impact on whoever reads the news. You would never know." This wise man is Ron. A sincere thank you to Laurie Nowell, Media Manager of AMES Australia for the invitation and interview, as well as Ron Smith, Media Coordinator of VAS for the help with the Press Release, as well as Gallery Manager Kari, Ann, Lucy and Mark for organizing the opening. I am grateful for all the love I received. So here it is. I sincerely hope you enjoy the article, and have an insight into my art journey " Blossoms of Life". This is a gift for the audience whom I haven't met in person, but plan to visit my solo. It might give you a different perspective while you view the body of work and the whole collection.
