Hello beautiful people! Wherever you are I hope you are all staying well. Glad to be back to my 1st blog post of March & greetings from my studio to you. Featured artwork in this photo- Sunny Days Ahead - Yuletide Camellia (2020) By HSIN LIN Original artwork Sold. LIMITED EDITION Giclée prints are available. Original artwork medium: Artist Acrylic on canvas. Affirmation – The Sun shines on you, have faith in a sunny place. I have this beautiful camellia tree in my front yard which blooms gloriously from every Autumn till Winter. Flowers always bloom in their own time without competing with other flowers. The glossy leaves add shiny-looking foliage with sunlight, along with the gorgeous red flowers and buds, it is captivating. Generally, camellia flowers symbolize love, affection, and admiration. Red camellias symbolize love, passion, and deep desire. The Yuletide Camellia is evergreen, meaning that the leaves stay on the plant all year round. This heat-loving, drought-tolerant Camellia thrives in hot weather conditions, needs minimal watering and can handle long periods with little to no rain. I present you these gorgeous camellias, that bloom gloriously just for you, every day, every season. It has become a routine of mine to paint the first bloom of this beautiful camellia tree every year, this is my 3rd depiction and the former two had found forever home, now you are looking at my latest interpretation of my favourite camellia tree. This artwork is painted during the lockdown in 2020, a special isolation diary that I wrote with my paint brushes. That is why I name this artwork – Sunny Days Ahead – to remind us that the bright future is ahead of us if we hang on to hope. -WILD BOTANICAL ABSTRACT SERIES 2020 by H.Lin- May we all bloom in our time in the best season. The new year is a wonderful time for a new goal, full of promise and opportunity. Years ago I made my goal as I wanted to paint better and bigger.
With some of the projects that I've been working on for 2022 wrapping up, this extra-large artwork counts as a breakthrough in my artist's career with no doubt. Meanwhile, it is also the largest artwork that I have ever painted. Not to mention how much I love the process as well as the outcome. Are you happen to look for a large statement piece for a special place in your home, office or even holiday house, this might be the one to attract every guest's attention! I present you the latest also the largest artwork fresh off my studio- A Plentiful Harvest - Passion Flower and Fruit By HSIN LIN 7/12/2022 Acrylic on triple primed gesso stretched gallery-wrapped canvas. The sides are painted Black. Ready to hang, D rings and wire attached at the back in gallery standard. Comes with a certificate of authenticity. Sealed with clear varnish. 152.4cm (W) x 121.9cm (H) x 3.83cm (D) Affirmation: What pleases us shapes our harvest. To experience the changing of the seasons and to present moments, it has become a routine of mine to paint the first bloom in my surrounding during its flowering season. This artwork is inspired by the Passion Vine that I spotted in my neighbourhood close to my art studio. I was fascinated by those interesting fringed petals and splendorous tendrils; the white petals shine bright like precious gems under the sunshine. Fun Fact about these unusual blossoms - Passion Flower Essence is used to purify and strengthen one’s connection to unconditional love even nowadays. A Truly Special and Symbolic Gift- Passion Flower, was named by Roman Catholic priests in the 15th and 16th centuries for the Passion of Jesus Christ. There were old sayings that the flower's five petals and five-petallike sepals represented the 10 faithful apostles. The circle of filaments in the centre of the bloomsome stands for the Crown of Thorns. Flowers always bloom in their own time without competing with other flowers. May we all bloom in our time in the best season. Link here if you would like to be the new owner of this gorgeous piece. I truly hope you enjoy this artwork as I do. Happy new year everyone, may your 2023 be A Plentiful Harvest.:) Warm Regards, Artist, HSIN LIN / H.Lin @helloinnerpeace #hsinlinart Hey 😊Can I tell you a story?

Featured artwork in this photo- We Are One - Kangaroo Paw, Grevillea and Clivia - Australian Garden (2021) By HSIN LIN Original artwork Sold. LIMITED EDITION Giclée prints are available. Affirmation – We are all the waves in the ocean, together we are one. Australian native plants are one of my favourite themes to study and paint. I especially love how our native plants survive all kinds of extreme weather conditions in their own unique ways and still stand tall. It reminds me that we shall never give up no matter what kind of difficulty we encounter in life. Kangaroo Paw- originates from western Australia. The most common meaning for the bloom is uniqueness and individuality. Succulent symbolize Loyalty and endurance. Grevillea symbolizes courage, primarily native to Australia, are evergreen shrubs or trees of great beauty with needle-like to fern-like foliage and incredibly flamboyant flowers. Clivia is also a very common plant that you can find in the Australian garden, also known as the Natal lily or bush lily. The spiritual meaning of the blossoms is very positive. Its symbolic meaning comes from the appearance- of tall, straight leaves, symbolising fortitude, unyielding, modesty and gentleness. Quote from original article - How to paint realistic portraits with acrylics by Hsin Lin Contemporary nature artist Hsin Lin, (@helloinnerpeace) is stepping us through how to paint realistic portraits with acrylics. Hsin’s added her signature florals to the artwork, so you can also learn a thing or two about painting realistic flowers too. "This artwork is called “Poise and Pride.” In April 2018, it was awarded the ‘Highly Commended Acrylic’ in The Hut Gallery Open Award Exhibition. The goal of my art journey has always been to stay true to myself and be true to the present moments. In this work, I decided to add in the flowers from my front yard - peony stands for honour, and bush lily stands for good luck. In order to capture the details in this artwork, it actually took me several months to re-reconnect to myself mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. I absolutely enjoyed painting these photo-realistic flowers, sometimes I even have dreams full of beautiful, delicate flower petals after a long day in the studio, which is totally worth it. I always want to deliver an important message in my floral series. Now is the very best time to be alive. Be at the moment, be yourself. Whenever you are experiencing difficulty, life itself can be bloomed like flowers with no fear." - By HSIN LIN {Enjoy the making of this artwork}
If you want a more clean-finished result, apply another layer of varnish spray. Or what I do is I brush another thin layer of diluted gesso and let dry for a day.
When it comes to the main flowers, I start with darker tone and then blended in white for a lighter tone which is added gradually step by step, so the colour hue would stay in harmony as a whole for the painting. Then more white is added in where the light sits.

Hancock Inspire grow bloom empower we look to Nature and see her unfold beautifully hour by hour, orange blossoms unfurl and dance vitality within, creation what a trance. Hungry bees and birds yearn for nectar anonymously visiting collecting for themselves and others, the artist and the poet observe from away smiling at each other and the precious scene they have to appreciate this fine day. Upon her canvas the artist dabs a spot of white against green as contrast the poet gnaws her pencil thoughtfully, a phrase emerges from her mind she scrawls it down quickly. Together they’ll create a scene of sumptuous colours and phrases which capture a moment flowingly, their duet of vivid blossoms the artist and the poet friends creating so joyously. Metallic Gold paints are used. It actually shines beautifully when you look at the physical painting. Affirmation – The answers and love are always within. I have this beautiful camellia tree in my front yard which blooms gloriously from every Autumn till Winter. Flowers always bloom in their own time without competing with other flowers. I am obsessed with the delightful view of the sunlight reflected on those pure white flower petals, and a bit of yellow/brown/red blended on the flower buds every time I study the bloom. It has become a routine of mine to paint the first bloom of this beautiful camellia tree every year, all of them had found their forever home quickly, now you are looking at my latest interpretation of my favourite camellia tree. The Camellia flower speaks to the heart and expresses positive feelings. The flower of Camellia also symbolizes great passion, refinement, faithfulness, and Perfection. When white camellias are presented to someone, it is thought to bring luck. -WILD BOTANICAL ABSTRACT SERIES 2020- This artwork is painted during the lockdown, a special isolation diary that I wrote with my paintbrushes. That is why I name this artwork – A Wonderful Life – to remind us that there are always sunny days ahead of us as long as we are alive. May we all bloom in our time in the best season. Quote from original post- Before Hsin Lin’s paint brushes even begin to touch the canvas, she closes her eyes and meditates under a sky light in her Melbourne studio, imagining the way her flowers and leaves will stretch and grow across the canvas. She opens her eyes, puts her favourite music on, picks up her paint brushes and begins dipping into her paints. For contemporary nature artist Hsin Lin, creating is a form of meditation, a flow state where she reflects and finds meaning. Most of her artworks are painted in acrylic with each of her artworks having an affirmation to communicate her art’s meaning. These affirmations extend far beyond what’s painted on the canvas, hoping others will find joy and comfort in her art. Q: How would you describe yourself? A: Hello beautiful people! I am Hsin Lin, an artist obsessed with the beauty and the form of flowers. Most of my inspiration comes from my observation of the natural world. A short walk from the studio takes me into a beautiful forest and it’s there that I can touch the texture of the tree bark, observe the colours of the current season and feel the sunlight reflecting on the trees and grasses. I often find myself collecting leaves, feathers and other wonderful gifts from nature that have fallen to the ground. I love to observe these in great detail and reflect their beauty in my paintings. Through my paintings, I see flowers as representing life, when I am carefully building up the tiny flower petals and leaf veins, it feels like I’m trying to figure out the uncertainty in life. It is also a reminder that as the flowers are in full bloom, this is our time to be alive. As life presents itself, you can fight with all your will or you may dance with the flow, either way, human life is unique, one-of-a-kind and this journey belongs to you only. Q: What is it about nature that inspires you the most? A: Being inspired by nature enlightens me in all aspects of life. The message that I wanted to deliver to the viewer are the pure joy and calmness that I experienced during my art process- the natural order, is what fascinates me the most. I sometimes stand in front of the canvas meditating, imitating how the flower grows and extends in my mind, before my paint brushes touch the canvas. Q: Before art, you were working in fashion, what drove you to swap fabric for canvas and pursue art? A: I used to be a fashion designer owning my label. However, after returning to my beloved city of Melbourne, I swapped the manipulation of fabric for the enticing world of paint and canvas, and I have been creating art full-time ever since. Although these two industries seem extremely different, to me there’s one thing in common, - clothes and canvas are all made from fabric. It’s all about what kind of story you want to tell with the medium. Q: How has your art style evolved? A: I started with some small projects at the beginning, gaining enormous joy and peacefulness from the process. Then I started to work on more detailed and bigger projects, at the same time, to focus on developing my own skills and style -- which is a challenge that I set for myself from time to time, but a challenge I enjoy without a doubt. Q: Where does your mind drift to when you paint? A: My mind drifts to a zone that no one can disturb. I lose track of time quite often in my studio while working on the details, which is also one of the reasons that some of my large scaled works take months to half of a year to finish. It’s pure bliss to be able to indulge in the power of nature and creativity, and to also speak to the world with my paint brushes. Q: How important are affirmations to your art? A: To be honest, the affirmations I have for every artwork are usually what I want to say to the viewer, or it may simply be something that I want to be told by others. You may see the affirmations as a process of meditating within my art practice. I love the fact that whenever I see the piece, it’s a reminder of love. If the collector who owns it can feel the positive energy and have the reminder from the piece, then it will be the most amazing thing. Because I believe words like art, have power. Q: How do you set up your studio or room? A: I have a specific spot in the studio which is just under a sky light, I paint in that particular spot every day. I sometimes paint in the garden, if the weather is great - natural light is always the best. I always paint with music on and I get lost in time. I highly recommend Hollow Coves (my favourite Australian band!) and The Satellite Station. Q: How does it feel exhibiting your work? A: Having your artwork exhibited in a gallery is like displaying a part of your true self to the public. It could be vulnerable in a certain way, but it feels magical at the same time to be able to speak to the world in the form of art too. Q: Do you have a favourite Mont Marte product? A: I own a Mont Marte Premium Watercolour Paints 36pc set and I absolutely love it. The high-quality pigments and great transparency are perfect to work with. It is very handy and easy to set up. All I need is an artist pad, a few tubes, a cup of water for brushes and peace of mind. I often carry the set while travelling overseas and paint wherever I want. There was one time I painted my cat Cadbury (a 9-year-old girl, I adopted from a shelter) at the boarding gate while I was waiting for transport. The process calmed me down almost immediately and some of the passengers who walked passed, even stopped and watched me paint for a short while. I can tell they were enjoying the process too with smile on their face. That particular artwork was collected by an amazing couple in South Australia afterwards, who had just lost their beloved cat, who happened looked very much like my cat Cadbury. Through this artwork they could remember their beautiful cat forever and cherish all of the memories they have together. I remember every moment of it, the joy of painting it, knowing that artwork comforts another person in the big world. And now the collectors are my life time friends. I sometimes feel art is more powerful than I think it is and I am still feeling grateful and blessed to be able to be in this incredible journey. (Shoutout to Liggy & Elena !:) They are amazing songwriters and singers !) Q: What are the best tips you’ve learned coming into the industry? A: There is no failure in art, every failure is a small step towards your goal. Because we either learn a lesson from it or stop for a short break then come back with full strength. Consistency is key. Q: What are you excited about for the future? A: The future is full of uncertainty, that’s the most exciting part don’t you think? :) Hope you guys enjoy the interview!
